We had the honor last month to attend a conference called GrowCo. This is one of a few conferenced that Inc. Magazine hosts for its 5000 companies and ones that aspire to be on the list. The event was a real eye-opener for us in the sense that we were able to talk to other entrepreneurs in high growth industries and companies. Some of the few of the many people we spoke with.
Blendtec – We sat at a table with the CEO and he was explaining how his viral youtube video series “Will it Blend?” directly resulted in his exponential growth in the past couple of years. For those of you that don’t know Blendtec makes juice blenders that can virtually vaporize anything (ipads, brooms, metals, etc). Almost 13 million hits on the “Will it Blend” for an ipad, hows that for exposure?
Thrillist- Ben Lerer of thrillist, just out of college started a mens lifestyle website that has grown from $1.1 million to $14.7 million in under 3 years. Pretty cool for a 28-year old.
Inc. Magazine – Mike Hoffman the editor of the magazine spoke with us for a bit and explained the event a bit thoroughly. We were all humbled that he approached us and took the time to ask about our business. One thing he said that stuck out to me was the idea that magazines like Inc. give a great objective, 3rd party perspective. With the 3000 advertisements thrown at us on a daily business it is refreshing to read something more “objective”.
All in all, it was a great experience and motivates us to bring our A-game to provide better service, increase efficiency and ultimately grow as a business.
Thanks Inc. Magazine!
